Such an enjoyable kit to build. Simple yet good detail. Get some add-ons if you want (I don’t bother because I don’t typically do open canopies) but get the Eduard mask set for the canopy (because it really does make the kit when painted properly). I’m pretty sure I’ll build one or two more from different squadrons.

This is another of excellent model kits from Tamiya range. Construction is straightforward and easy. It was well worth of money that I payed for it. Recommended!

Tamiya has a reputation for producing well informed subjects, there is a series of corsairs by this company and this one represents the 1D very well. it has restrained panel lines and a decent cockpit, this one has decals for vf 84 wing 167 aboard USS Bunker hill feb 1945, and vmf 530 Okinawa april 1945.
Straight from the box this would make good practice for the slighly advanced modeler, for those who wish to add aftermarket PE frets or resin upgrades this kit is well served plus a reasonable amount of alternative decal sheets out there.
On Amazon there is a company called Eduard that do the PE frets, so if want to build a more detailed version of this aircraft you cant go wrong with this one, no flash on the parts and a instruction booklet that can be followed without any trouble.
